There’s a difference between self development and over-correction. They might look the same, present the same way but they have different root causes and intentions.
One recognizes your flaws, humanity and your being and STILL finds you worthy of love, happiness, laughter and all the good things. The other sees you as perpetually ongoing project, void of humanity, feelings and has an unconscious thought that you HAVE TO attain a level of perfection to be worthy of good things. It consistently points out all the things that need to fixed.
Friend, yes strive to grow, yes strive for excellence; I’m a big fan of all that but realize that you are a person, a human being; and you are worthy of good things just because you are, that’s it. Every time you feel the need to magnify your flaws over who you are as a person; so you can yet again have something to fix, pause and ask yourself “who taught me this?” Who taught you that you had to look a certain way, walk a certain way, talk a certain way, be a certain person to be worthy? Work on yourself, grow as person but recognize that you don’t have to be perfect, free yourself from that mentality.
And I should add that this is less about finding someone or people who will love you as you and more about BEING the person who loves you as you are. You deserve to look in the mirror and see a person and not a project.
I hope you have a freeing life.
