Free yourself from the need to perfectly balance every area of your life without dropping the ball on some things. You are not a clown at a circus, and nobody is standing around you, oo-ing and ah-ing at your remarkable skill to hold everything steady.
On some days, work demands that you give more than 50, and that’s fine. On some other days, life demands that you give more than 50, and that’s fine too. The trick is knowing when to prioritize one over the other; that is the real work-life balance. Knowing when to let some work balls drop in order to keep some life balls in the air.
And as I have always said, the MOST important thing you can do every day is make it to the end of the day. Every other thing is secondary. Quite frankly, when you’re struggling to make it to the end of the day, every other “must do” pales in comparison.
You’re not a circus clown; you have no audience to perform for. Relax. No, I’m serious. Unclench your jaw, wriggle your eyebrows, drop your shoulders.
